Through improving the personnel skills and training of new employees, DAMU Logistics company is transforming the traditional labor model. So, in DAMU Logistics the "male" professions are often successfully mastered by female employees. At the same time, each of them understands the importance of their work for the company's operations. In this article, we will tell about the success stories of female tower-crane operators, each of whom managed to become an integral part of a large business process.
SVETLANA GAIZAKOVA. WORK FROM A BIRD'S EYE VIEW.
Svetlana Gaizakova is a tower crane operator in the container terminal of the «DAMU Logistics» industrial park and one of the few who chose a non-female profession at first glance. The girl spoke about the nuances of working as a machinist and why she decided to commit herself to an unusual business. According to Svetlana, working at a height of 13 meters in the very heart of the industrial park - the DAMU Logistics container terminal , where various goods are received daily from all over the world, it seems exclusively masculine only at first glance. And the secret of success is actually simple - the support of the company and love for your work. Svetlana became a gantry crane operator or, in other words, a crane operator at the age of 18, and, according to the young girl, she has never regretted about her profession choice. Each shift, the girl is involved in unloading and loading 40-ton containers. The whole process is automated, and various sensors are installed in the working cabins, including those showing wind strength and temperature. According to the girl, about 15 people work in the team every day, and work in the industrial zone does not stop even for a minute. Day and night, the team of the container terminal is working to provide people with the necessary goods, which from the DAMU Logistics warehouses go straight to the shops of the entire region. “We unload and load 40-ton containers day and night. We work in teams in shifts, without downtime. Sometimes there is not even five minutes of rest. During the night we load 20-30 containers into wagons. Sometimes we unload, assemble heavy equipment, such as graders. There are subtleties here, the main thing is to prevent damage to the metal. Tractors work on the ground, we are from the air. Together we pull out the grader,” our interlocutor explains. “Of course, at first it was scary to climb into the cockpit. Then I got used to it. Love for the result is more important, fear has disappeared over time. I made my own profession choice, I really wanted to work as a crane operator, so it has never been hard to me. ” Svetlana says when sharing about her work experience at the DAMU Logistics company. Now, five years later, Svetlana believes that working at a bird's eye view is really inspiring, and all the intricacies of the profession of a tower crane operator are available to any girl, especially since future employees of the container terminal are provided with an internship, followed by employment at the «DAMU» first private industrial logistics park of the Republic of Kazakhstan .
LYUBOV AVILOVA: “I LOVE MY JOB"
There are also employees who can be called stagers at the DAMU Logistics container terminal. One of them is Lyubov Avilova, she is a gantry crane operator with 18 years of experience. Over the years, according to Lyubov, the work process has changed a lot. In the DAMU Logistics container terminal, every part of the work process is adjusted to the details, all employees work as a single mechanism in a positive environment, so everything is done on time and on schedule. “We work in shifts from 8.00 to 20.00. There is one woman in our teams in the container terminal. Male colleagues support us, they do not say that this is not a woman's work. The profession of crane operators is not for everyone; it requires a male character. At first, some people may find it difficult. But if you love the profession, there are no difficulties, especially when everything is debugged and everyone does their job. At DAMU Logistics, everyone knows their tasks, so we almost never have reschedules,” says a container terminal employee.Despite the well-established opinion that a tower crane operator is an exclusively male job, the effective work of female colleagues in the DAMU Logistics container terminal proves that there are no barriers to mastering the profession if there is love for work and support from the company: Lyubov Avilova is convinced in that. And today's successful and productive work of the entire terminal is the result of changing the traditional labor model and introducing modern standards. “When there is a desire to master a profession and work processes are established, and labor safety is ensured, the work will bring only positive emotions. For the whole time of my work experience, I personally have not had any emergency situations”says the crane operator. Now, besides working at DAMU Logistics container terminal, Lyubov Avilova also provides training for young specialists who want to be tower- crane operators.
ASSEL RAKHIMBERLINA – THE FIRST FEMALE CRANE OPERATOR OF «DAMU Logistics»

More than 7 years ago, Asel Rakhimberlina, a doctor by education, decided to radically change her profession and become a gantry crane operator. Our employee is the first female crane operator in the «DAMU» industrial and logistics zone of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Assel says that she has approached the decision to change her job responsibly, and internship courses held on an ongoing basis in the DAMU Logistics company, allowed her to master a new specialty. Learning the basics of the profession takes place right at the workplace: in addition to studying theory, practical skills are being worked out in parallel. Then everyone takes exams, gets a skill-category. “I really liked the profession even during the internship, where we were fully prepared for work. In addition, the company pays great attention to the health of employees. If the working day starts at 8.00 in the morning, then half an hour before work, all crane operators must undergo a medical examination, check their pressure and temperature. And if there is even a slight increase in temperature, they do not issue a permit to work at height, ”said an employee of the company. Residents of the «DAMU» first private industrial and logistics zone of the Republic of Kazakhstan can not only use our container terminal, but also they can use the temporary storage warehouses and the customs services, which are also located on the territory. Thus, our partners can receive a full cycle of all services - from delivery, loading, unloading, assembly to customs clearance.
“We load and unload wagons, 40, 20-ton containers with various goods that you see in stores. Here, at our temporary storage warehouse and customs, you can undergo the customs clearance procedure for all goods. We do everything: we have our own customs and temporary storage warehouses, then the goods are distributed to warehouses and from there, firms pick up the goods and deliver them to stores,” explains Assel Rakhimberlina.
