“DAMU Logistics” supports the Concept of transition to a "green" economy

At the UN summit dedicated to climate change in Glasgow in December 2020, Head of the State – Kasym-Jomart Tokayev made a commitment that Kazakhstan would reach carbon neutrality by 2060. A month later, in his message to the people of Kazakhstan made in January, the president confirmed the country's transition to a "green" development path as a strategic trend for the national economy. As part of the environmental program, as instructed by the head of the state, it has been announced that 2 billion trees will be planted throughout the country by 2025. “DAMU” – the first private industrial and logistics park of the Republic of Kazakhstan recognizes the important role of the leading Kazakh companies in all environmental endeavors and is one of the first to take immediate action and concrete steps to combat the climate crisis. Considering the need to restore the lost biodiversity, to reduce pollution and to increase hydrocarbon absorption, the management of DAMU Logistics decided to invest in natural ecosystems and mass greening of lands.
This year, DAMU Logistics employees started accomplishing the ambitious tasks of the national scale under the program of greening the country and curbing the increasing desertification. In the shortest possible time, dozens of perennial plantations have been planted in the adjacent areas of the logistics area, including red-listed coniferous trees.

Lands in front of the administrative building of DAMU Logistics have been planted with Red Data Book trees. In total, 150 elm trees, 90 ash trees, 60 pine trees, 40 arborvitae and 60 shrubs have been planted on the territory of the “DAMU Logistics” industrial and logistics area of the Republic of Kazakhstan this year. The plantings’ selection was based on the landscape and climatic conditions, and on the recommendations of tree –care professionals, which is especially important for the Almaty region, as one of the driest regions of the country. There were leading industry experts engaged in the "green" project of DAMU Logistics, and almost all employees of the company took part in the planting process. Remarkably, the responsible approach of “DAMU” first private industrial and logistics park of the Republic of Kazakhstan resulted in accomplishing the tree planting project. The Company achieved a 100% survival rate for all planted perennial trees. Besides, DAMU Logistics decided to continue the annual tradition of large-scale planting of greenery in the country, as part of the Kazakhstan Greening Program announced by the head of the state. Through purchasing the land plots in the DAMU Logistics industrial park, our partners not only become owners of territories with a complete infrastructure and a range of logistics services, but they can also take a part in the ambitious national-scale project on transition to a "green" economy.
